One valuable niche worth exploring for virtual assistants is the self publish market.
That is, professionals who self publish their own book using kindle, createspace, lulu or any of the other self publish platforms that keep popping up.
Now – these platforms can be very complicated to learn. That’s one possible VA function.
Plus if you think about it – with the market share that devices such as the kindle have, what we are really talking about is the future of reading itself.
BUT
One thing is for sure (and this is a truism)
That if everything is equal (and it is – access to the web is universal) the book with the best marketing will do the best.
And that’s something ELSE a virtual assistant can help with – book marketing.
Luckily then, our training partners Sharp End Training are holding a free webinar where Jonathan promises to share his book marketing mistakes from
“Confessions of an Interim manager”
Jonathan has teamed up with US book marketing coach and consultant Molly Rider
He has agreed to share his book marketing mistakes and Molly has agreed to give him (and us…) some tips in advance of his next book.
The event is TOTALLY FREE and is on 14th February 2012

I offer eBook formatting services within my role as a VA, and just recently introduced being able to publish eBooks directly onto my Publisher account on Smashwords.
It’s a growing business, but as you mention you have to learn how to format to the different platforms.
How do I access the free webinar?

I always set clients up with their own publisher account so they receive the income and have their own pages to sell from.
I don’t use Smashwords as found it too faffy for formatting but publish to Kindle, Lulu and Createspace so they can get physical books as well and have them for sale in the Amazon store.
